Members of the LHSM are citizens who share the desire to preserve the History of the Locust area for future generations. The love of History and pride of Locust are common interests shared by many of us. Members of LHSM are common everyday people whom have decided to be active in pursuing these interests and preserving them for future generations. Founding Board members: Tim Barbee (Chairperson), Gary Tucker (V-Chairperson), Judy Godwin (Secretary), Kendra Tucker (Treasurer), Pat Long (Board Member), James Hamilton (Board Member) Current Board members: Bill Tucker (Chairperson), Gary Tucker V-Chairperson), Kendra Tucker (Treasurer), Pat Long (Board Member), Scott Efird (Board Member) Meeting times are the 4th Tuesday at 7:00 PM of each month at the Museum. Mission Statement.
The Purpose of the corporation is to promote the collection, preservation, educational interpretation and display of those artifacts, documents and events most representative of Locust and the surrounding area – it’s prehistory and history, it’s people and institutions, and it’s cultural and economic development. Likewise, the primary goal is to preserve Locust’s heritage for the benefit of present and future generations.

Artifacts on display
Includes but is not limited to: A collection of arrowheads and Indian artifacts collected from the local area. Sports memorabilia dating back to the 1930’s. A 150 year old quilt from the Civil War era. Artifacts and Photos from the 1969 Locust Centennial celebration. Antique farming equipment including what is believed to be the first cotton planter of the Locust area. A collage of all known area WWII veterans. Numerous historic photographs including vintage businesses and historic events. (Photo Gallery)
